[RFP] PB in Schools Video

You voted to decide how part of your donations should be spent to make PB better. In past years you funded our intro video, organizing toolkit, and MyReps tool. This year you can decided how to spend at least $18,000.

Your votes and support funded the production of a video that shows the impact of bringing PB to schools and builds on the power of the PB in Schools Guide, funded by PB2 last year!

Now we need your help to find the right partners to make this video as powerful as the experience of students getting real power in their schools.

Summary

The Participatory Budgeting Project (PBP) seeks proposals to produce a 3-5 minute introductory video on participatory budgeting in schools. Participatory budgeting (PB) is a democratic process first developed in Brazil and now practiced in over 3,000 cities around the world, in which community members directly decide how to spend part of a public budget. The video will be used to introduce people to how PB might be used in schools and to promote the process to teachers, principals, student advocates, students, parents, and other key school decision makers.

It should explain how PB works in an accessible and engaging format, and it may use existing footage. The video should use PBP’s recently released guide to PB in Schools as a resource for content and a call to action. Schools can implement PB with this guide!

The videographer will likely need to secure necessary footage and be able to meet with PBP staff.
