National League of Cities Congress in Denver

The Participatory Budgeting Project will be co-hosting a workshop in Denver this week at the 2010 Congress of the National League of Cities, the annual gathering of municipal government officials. Participatory Budgeting: Building Community Agreement Around Tough Budget Decisions (4:45-6:15pm, Korbel 2A)
Learn about a pioneering experiment in democratic governance in Chicago’s 49th Ward where residents are invited to decide directly how to spend $1.3 million in city funds. This session/reception from Cities of Progress will include food and drinks for participants.
