Request for Proposals for Short Video

We’re excited to announce a new video project, funded through donations and prioritized by PB supporters in PB2!

The Participatory Budgeting Project (PBP) seeks proposals to produce a 3-5 minute introductory video on participatory budgeting. Participatory budgeting (PB) is a democratic process first developed in Brazil and now practiced in over 1,500 cities around the world, in which community members directly decide how to spend part of a public budget. The video will be used to introduce people to PB at public meetings, and to promote the process to government officials, community groups, and funders. It should explain how PB works in an accessible and engaging format, and it may use existing footage from initiatives in the US. The videographer will need to work in New York City, Chicago, or the San Francisco Bay Area, to secure necessary footage and meet with PBP staff. Proposals are due February 15th, 2013 and the final video should be completed by the end of May 2013. The winning proposal will be awarded $4,000 – $6,000.
