PB Roadmap Workshop Series

The Participatory Budgeting Roadmap is a series of workshops to help you lead a participatory budgeting process from start to finish.

By focusing on the full cycle of PB, from design, to execution, to evaluation, we are excited to bring folks together to build the skills and knowledge needed to implement their own processes equitably and effectively.

For now, the worksop series will start with two key parts of any PB process, planning and outreach!

Setting the Stage: Planning for Powerful PB

The Planning Workshop is broken out into two sessions where you’ll learn about what it takes to set up and plan a PB process

This workshop is designed with key discussion sessions, giving participants the time to think out the common barriers that show up in planning PB. Join us to develop a clearer roadmap to plan a PB process in your community and take home customizable tools & templates to help you build a budget and staffing plan that allows you to plan an equitable & impactful PB process!

Part I

The first session offers a comprehensive overview of the essential steps for setting up and planning a successful participatory pudgeting (PB) process. You’ll focus on building the necessary PB infrastructure and understanding the core principles that underpin effective participatory budgeting. Participants will also get hands-on practice creating their PB timeline, setting the foundation for a smooth process.

Part II

In the second session, we’ll focus on resourcing your PB process, including how to allocate and manage your budget effectively.

Participants will get hands-on experience applying concepts from the first session. Through small group, scenario-based activities, you’ll design your own PB operational budget and uncover key insights to apply in your PB programs or advocacy efforts.
